Em 16/11/1993: Emerson, Lake & Palmer lança o álbum The Return of the Manticore
The Return of the Manticore é um álbum de retrospectiva em 4 discos sobre a carreira da banda Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
Foi lançado em 1993 e apresenta várias novas gravações de músicas lançadas anteriormente, mais notavelmente uma gravação de estúdio de " Pictures at an Exhibition ", apresentada em Dolby Surround Sound. Uma gravação ao vivo de " Rondo " de Dave Brubeck aparece no disco 2; a faixa, tocada pelo ELP em show desde o início da banda (havia sido pela banda anterior de Keith Emerson, The Nice), não foi lançada anteriormente em nenhum álbum ao vivo ou de estúdio do ELP. Esta versão foi gravada no Lyceum Theatre em 9 de dezembro de 1970.
O box set é um corte bastante abrangente da história da banda, oferecendo faixas de todos os álbuns de estúdio e ao vivo (no momento do lançamento), como as novas versões do ELP de sucessos previamente gravados por bandas quais eram membros anteriores para formar o ELP. O lançamento original do álbum foi parte de uma onda de lançamentos remasterizados sob o novo selo da banda, Victory Music. Depois que esse selo foi extinto, o conjunto foi relançado pela Rhino Records.
