1985 George Duke – Thief In The Night


Thief in the Night é o décimo oitavo álbum de estúdio do tecladista e produtor musical americano George Duke . Foi lançado em 1985 pela Elektra Records, tornando-se seu primeiro lançamento pela gravadora. As sessões de gravação do álbum ocorreram no Le Gonks West em West Hollywood, Califórnia. Duke tocou vários instrumentos de teclado no álbum, incluindo Synclavier II, Memorymoog, Fender Rhodes, Sequential Circuits Prophet-5, clavinet, Yamaha P F15 e Minimoog. O álbum conta com contribuições de Lynn Davis, Paul Jackson Jr , Paulinho Da Costa , Robert Brookins e Deniece Williams, entre outros.

O álbum atingiu o pico de número 183 na Billboard 200 e número 52 na parada Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Seu single principal, uma faixa-título “Thief in the Night”, alcançou o número 37 na Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, número 21 na Dance Club Songs e número 89 na UK Singles Chart. Seu segundo single “I Surrender” e um single promocional “Love Mission” não entraram nas paradas.
