Armitage Shanks - punk de garagem direto de Snodland, Kent. Na formação desde 1991, com cinco álbuns, "Live", vários singles e EPs diferentes, além de uma ativa atividade de shows, incluindo turnês, tanto na Europa quanto nos EUA. No início, os músicos foram muito favorecidos pela amizade com o mestre do rock de garagem Billy Childish. Junto com ele, Armitage Shanks lançou dois álbuns de sete e excursionou com Thee Headcoats. A formação do grupo passou por mudanças e o núcleo principal sempre se manteve: o vocalista Richard L. Huggins (ou simplesmente Dick Scum), o guitarrista Rod Vomit (também conhecido como Duncan C. Castle) e o baterista Vic Templar (de acordo com seu passaporte, Ian Greensmith). Este último se juntou ao grupo após o lançamento do álbum de estreia ( Takin 'The Piss, 1994).
