The Merton Parkas

 

The Merton Parkas é uma banda londrina de mod revival formada na década de 1970 pelos irmãos Talbot (Danny e Mick). A banda se chamava originalmente The Sneekers. Danny tocava vocal e guitarra, Mick tocava teclado, Neil Hurrell tocava baixo e Simon Smith tocava bateria. O single de estreia, "You Need Wheels", foi lançado em julho de 1979, foi um grande sucesso, entrou nas paradas e, posteriormente, tornou-se o trabalho de maior sucesso comercial da banda. Em setembro, a banda lançou seu álbum de estreia e, em 1980, anunciou sua separação. Mick tocou no Dexys Midnight Runners, The Bureau e The Style Council. Simon Smith juntou-se ao Mood Six, e Danny tornou-se professor e trabalhou no Clapham College.
