O London Cowboys era formado pelo vocalista Steve Dior, o guitarrista Barry Jones e vários outros músicos, incluindo nomes conhecidos do Sex Pistols (Glen Matlock), The Clash (Terry Chimes), Generation X (Tony James), New York Dolls (Jerry Nolan) e outros. Anteriormente, Dior e Jones tocaram juntos no The Idols, fizeram uma turnê americana com Sid Vicious e gravaram um single em 1979. Steve Dior, então, deixou sua marca com o projeto The Professionals, formado por ex-Sex Pistols. O London Cowboys fez sucesso no Reino Unido, na Europa e até no Japão, lançando dois álbuns de estúdio, um álbum ao vivo e vários singles. Ativo de 1980 a 1987, o grupo misturava rock, punk e glam rock em sua música.
