O 21 Guns optou por não continuar com a RCA, e Gorham retornou a uma formação revitalizada do Thin Lizzy , prestando homenagem a Phil Lynott . Gorham e o baixista Leif Johansen não tiveram muito contato até decidirem se reunir e recrutar o ex -vocalista do Sons of Angels e do Psycho Motel, Hans Olav Solli, para substituir La Verdi .
No novo álbum do 21 Guns , eles trabalharam inicialmente com Steinar Krokstad , baterista das bandas Stage Dolls e Vagabond , mas Michael Sturgis retornou à banda , regravando as partes de bateria e ajudando a finalizar duas músicas.
O novo álbum, intitulado Nothing's Real , inclui um cover de " King's Vengeance " do Thin Lizzy . O álbum foi relançado em 2000 pela gravadora Z e inclui seis faixas bônus. Nesse mesmo ano, La Verdi se juntou à Street Legal .
